History
Established in 2001.
In the year 2009, a group of visionary leaders and community stalwarts embarked on a remarkable journey to establish Kuki Inpi USA (KIUSA), the successor of the former Kuki International Forum (KIF), originally established in 2001 by Rev. Dr. D.P. Haokip, Rev. Dr. Seikam Touthang, Rev. Dr. Thong Kho Lun, Rev. Dr. Hegin Haokip, Rev. Dr. Harry Angam Haokip and the late Dr. Nehginpao Kipgen (in order of seniority). This monumental endeavor was fueled by their unwavering commitment to the Kuki community’s unity, culture, and empowerment within the United States. Dr. T. Lunkim, Dr. Hechong Singsit, Dr. Thien Haokip, Rev. Dr. Seikam Touthang, Rev. Dr. Thong Kho Lun, Pu. Letlam Kipgen, Pastor Moses Lenthang, and Rev. Dr. Hegin Haokip (in order of seniority) stood at the forefront of this transformative initiative.
With a shared vision and a deep sense of purpose, these founders recognized the need for a unifying platform that would connect Kuki individuals and families scattered across the United States. Their collective determination was rooted in the desire to ensure that the Kuki community’s cultural heritage, traditions, and values remained vibrant and celebrated amidst the challenges of assimilation and distance.
Through dedication, collaboration, and an unyielding passion for community service, KIUSA quickly evolved into a cornerstone of support for the Kuki diaspora in the United States. The organization’s programs, events, and initiatives spoke to the heart of the community’s needs, fostering a sense of belonging, cultural pride, and personal growth.
Over the years, KIUSA’s impact reverberated through the lives of countless individuals as it facilitated connections, celebrated heritage, and advocated for the Kuki community’s welfare. From cultural festivals that showcased the richness of Kuki traditions to educational workshops that empowered the youth, KIUSA’s founders and members tirelessly worked to uplift their community.
